I don't know about the rest of you but I quite often wonder why some people have the names they do for their toons.. I thought this might be a good spot for us to tell the rest of the guild a little bit about how we came up with the names we have..

I'll just list the toons I actually have a reason for naming the way i did:

Josima - I took the first 2 letters of my wife's name, my daughter's name and my name.. By far, this is my favourite name I've chosen..
Wristy - "Wristy" was a joke word used a lot with friends "only way I'm gonna get a pay rise is give the boss a quick wristy", was actually made just for laughs but once Jos started getting higher I wanted to play another toon to pass the time while i banked my rested XP.
Meemo  - This is what happens when you listen to a 2year old & decide to name a toon after her favourite clown fish..
Snocones - my lil frost mage.. I decided when I made her she was going to be frost & if u've ever seen a human female toon you'll understand why the word "cones" stood out (literally :P )
Cooperzale - my Retardadin.. Named after my favourite brewing company/beer Coopers Ale mmmmm, beer *drool*

Other toons dont really have much of a story behind them so I'm not going to bother..

Anywho, enough about me, let's see what stories are behind everyone else's names :)

To be honest with you, all of my character names i just thought up while making the toons.  I didnt really give any particuar reasoning or method to the naming, they just popped in my head and there they were.

When i first started playing wow, i had a druid that i started on a friends account just to try out the game. I did that because at the time, i was a huge Halo 2 freak, it had just come out, and we had some massive LAN parties.

     It's kind of a funny story because wow is the first computer game i've ever played besides doom 2. After i started liking the game, i decided to make my own account. I didn't really know what i wanted to roll toon wise so my friends said to start something and roll it to 10 and see if i still liked it.

    So, i thought gnomes were kind of funny and a mage...well a mage could stand back and shoot at things, so cool, i was going to try one of them out. As i was sitting at the naming screen, well dam, Speed bump was taken and so was Shorty.

    So what was i going to do? So Cannon Fodder popped into my head for some reason. But i thought, how is this going to apply to wow? Well, i thought, i'm alliance, and the opposition has undead, orcs, trolls......THERE IT IS!!!

     Trollfodder, i mean, the name's not going to make a difference anyways, i'm only going to play this mage to 10 until i find something i like to play.......Turns out, i enjoyed the mage, the name stuck, and the rest is history.

      Since then, i've just been naming characters with funny names based on the race, class, and what not. Draenie shaman- Tailslapper........Human Paladin-Priestinacan.........Death knight-Lichthis.......and it goes on.

      I think my rogue-Pownstar.......is the only toon that's not named based on class or race. He's the character that the name pays homage to the First Person Shooter games i used to enjoy so much.

Hrmm, I'll just kind of go in order of importance here.

Kammithelock- I've just always kind of liked the name Kammi for females, and she's a lock.  I had just split with my wife and was feeling very straight forward, and not very enthusiastic about life, so I just named her what she was.

Huggatree- I've know from the day I roller her that she was going to be a tree healer, and my wife and I were just bitching on the phone about "tree huggers" in Logan Canyon where we live, wanting to keep motorcycles out of it, and reduce traffic volume.

LowerJumper- Its an Airborne thing, there are three rules of the air..and the last one is "the Lower Jumper always has the right of way."

Rogueleader- He's a rogue bank toon, its a StarWars reference, he's also the GM of RogueSquadron, my bank guild.

Whosyourpally- Meh, I just liked the name for my pally.  

Juicypeach- My candle I like for the summer.....

Nottalock- Self explanatory

I tried to use my three favorite online names and they were all taken... so I thought "fuck it" and used my real name.

I was lazy when it came to names

Diis - was a complete random name that i actually liked

Renzukoken - being a big final fantasy fan i used squalls limitbreak from that, this was originally meant to be a 39 twink feral druid but when joe and dussk lvl out of it so did i and turned it into a healer at lvl 70 cause i couldnt get away from tanking with him

Gaza - my rogue well i couldnt have it with 2 z's someone already took it, t is meant o be a resembelance of my name

Innocent - well i dont know it was there so i used it

ps yeah i know i dont know how to spell and there are probably a few errors in there

Well character names.  I guess I'll start from the begining.  At first I really didn't know if I wanted to play WoW.  I'd been a gamer of some sorts all of my life, and just wanted to play the same games as my friends.  When I was in the Marines and done with my 3rd tour in Iraq a lot of the people I knew really wanted me to get into playing WoW.  I started on the server Silver Hand with one of my friends and named my first toon Gorge.

Gorge - he was my undead rogue on Silver Hand, that I moved to Khaz Modan after I started playing my gnome rogue a lot and wanted to kill some old guild members, now he's named Pinchkiller and pretty much there for the same reason

Minnotauro - I just named him something that I thought would be strong off of a MMA fighter that was good at jujitsu.  The actaul spelling only has one 'N' at the begining, but I'm sure some tauren took that already.

Hughjundies - I really wanted to play a shaman again, I thought they were interesting when I first played one and I figured I could use a healer of some sorts down the road.  Ummmm, well the name was just something that I thought would be funny to everybody, and it really hasn't failed yet.

Applejuice - I really didn't have a name that I could think of that wasn't taken at the time.  This was just something that was in my head and I put it down after many taken names and decided to run with it.  I guess it's a weird name for a mage, but at least people remember it

Those are the only toons that really matter at the moment.  Some other toons are just sitting there gathering dust and ones I don't really play that often, but maybe later...

Ceraphina was my first toon, and to be honest I didn't have any real plan behind naming her.  At that point I was just trying to find a name that hadn't been taken yet.

Marceya, my draenai paladin, got her name from a gal that I used to work with a couple years ago.   She was an extremely knowledgeable person, someone that I could always count on to get the job done. I can only pray that I play the toon to l ive up to it.  So far I am having to most fun leveling this toon.  I wear plate and beat the crap outta stuff.

Kristania, my shaman, has a name that is a spinoff of my daughters name.

The rest of my toons got their names by whatever popped into my head at the time I created them.

Minno no one cares about your horde toons

Hiya warlords =)  My toon names are easy they are most Angels with a darkside (thedarkangel, dethangel)  oh so scary huh. ;p but then people asked if I was Emo  lol. Soo the next one was more graceful =) Angelicgrace.  Then...since I just would rather heal anyways  and was very frustrated with my Pally I created Angelhealz which is now my ultimate favorite because she is a quickdraw healer =) and with the dualtalents I have fun doing quests and such as shadow and am still  heals .... plus shes fun both pve and pvp. Her name should have been ultimateangel =D

Gellar - I was going through a Gilmore Girls kick when I created this toon and named her after Paris Gellar, a character in the show.

Yaxley - Is a death eater in the Harry Potter books.

Igraine - my hunter was actually called Payton (I don't even remember why) on my old server.  When I moved her to Khaz Modan that name was taken so I came up with Igraine who was King Arthur's mother.  Since I'm a mother it seemed to fit.

Delorian - my druid was named after the car of the same name in Back to the Future.  I believe the car is a DeLorean but its close.
