I've been thinking about how 3.0 (and later WOTLK) affects our tanking rotation, which is significantly changed. Basic abilities are:
- Holy shield isn't necessary any more, but nice. Effectively 6 GCD cooldown. - Consecrate: Basically a 6GCD cooldown - Judgement: If you take 1 point in improved judgements, 6 GCD cooldown - Hammer of the Righteous: 4 GCD cooldown - Shield of Righteousness: Once we get it, 4 GCD cooldown So, we have 3 on a cooldown of 6, and 2 on a cooldown of 4. It took me a bit, but I figured out a way to be hitting everything just as its cooldown comes up. 6 GCD abilities are letters, 4 GCD abilities are numbers: A 1 B 2 C 1 A 2 B 1 C 2 I'd probably put holy shield as ability A, everything else I'm not sure about. Of course, there will be things that can mess this up: - We need to reseal every 2 minutes - Exorcism, hammer of wrath, and avenger's shield could be tossed in at various points, may be more useful that some of the main 5. - Could need to stun something If you get interrupted, since holy shield can be down safely, the easiest thing to do would be to wait for it and one of the 4 GCD cooldowns to be ready, then start with those two. Everything else should fall into place then. Disagreements / other ideas? |
