Hello there new recruit! First let me take a moment to say that I'm pleased you decided to give us a try. I know it's difficult to trust someone from a random whisper and to put yourself out there to a group of strangers. It can be a daunting if not downright intimidating task. I appreciate your courage, and hope to make your time here with us enjoyable and profitable. Now that I have you properly welcomed I would like to give you a bit of a hand to help make your integration with our family a smooth one. I've been GM for 5 years. that's a very long time. I have close to one year play time logged into my main, that's a lot of late nights. I've seen hundreds of people come and go and through that experience, I can give you pointers on how to get the most out of your new guild. 1: SPEAK UP!!! 90% of the new recruits that leave here unsatisfied kept to themselves. if you want to be a part of this family, talk to us. talk about your day, ask questions, get involved. Relationships are a two way street and if you don't invest in your fellow guild mates, they wont invest in you! 2: GET VENTRILO!!! 90% of all the guild conversations occur in vent. By not using it, you are seriously hampering your ability to become one of the gang. Ventrilo is free and can be found at www.ventrilo.com its also a raid requirement so the sooner you get it the sooner you can get involved with our raids. 3: BE REAL!!! We all tell little lies to get through the day, and thats fine. But if you make obviously false claims that are fantastic and extreme, you arent going to impress anyone, youre merely going to isolate yourself. 4: BE HUMBLE!!! We all have made many achievements in our time here in this game, but if you behave like a braggart then youre going to intimidate people and push them away...again resulting in isolation. be proud of your accomplishments, but try to refrain from shoving them down other peoples throats. 5: BE REASONABLE!!! You just got here, it may take a week or two to get you involved in our many raid activities. If you dont immediatly get into a raid, give it some time. if youre an active and dedicated player that did your work to get your gear up then I will do everything in my power to get you involved. 6: BE INFORMED!!! please take a few moments to visit the RULES page on this site. If you know the rules then guild mates wont call you out when you break one unknowingly. I've had several people leave when a guild officer asked them to refrain from doing something that was against the rules. We put a lot of time and energy to make these rules availible to you at your convienence. Theres really no reason not to make yourself familiar with them,. 7: OPEN UP!!! Some of the best friendships I've ever known as a person have blossomed here in Shadow Warlords. We have all types of people here, and the odds of you NOT finding a friend if you follow these simple guidelines are extremly low. I sincerely hope to take these things into consideration, and I sincerely hope that one day I can call you friend. -Joebelcher GM of Shadow Warlords |
